Back in 2012

Portico Sport and Phil Martin came back in 2012, again in classic racing and have so far notched up six wins and two seconds out of eight starts.  Also bringing us up to date Phil Martin has had a podium finish at the legendary circuit of Paul Ricard in Provence France.

The classic season moves on again to Snetterton in the UK and Imola in Italy where Phil Martin and Patrick Banfield will be entering a four hour endurance.

For 2013 Portico Sport hopes to be back supporting a younger rider on more modern machinery.  So watch this space for more results and news!

Phil Martin - Huge crash!

Phil Martin had a huge crash to end the season so again Bob Collins was entered on the behalf of Portico Sport and he became top privateer amongst ex GP and IOM stars.

During that year Portico Sport also supported the successful team Glam classic endurance racing in France and Spain.  With wins at Magny Cours, Pau and Cartegena, winning the French Endurance Championship.

Philip Island Classic in Melbourne Australia

In 2010 Phil Martin entered the CRMC Superbike class of classic racing on a P&M 1260 and had many podiums and finally a class win at his local circuit of Snetterton.  After this success Portico Sport was asked if it could enter a bike and rider for the Philip Island Classic in Melbourne Australia.  A race for the British team against the KIWI's and the ultra competitive Australians.

Phil Martin entered a classic Kawasaki in the CRMC 750 class

In 2009 Phil Martin entered a classic Kawasaki in the CRMC 750 class and got many podium, fastest laps but never that elusive win, However Bob Collins did a guest race on Start Lanes P&M and won both races, again at Brands Race of the year.

1260 P&M Kawasaki got off to a super start

In 2008 Stuart Lane of Portico entered classic racing on a 1260 P&M Kawasaki and got off to a super start at Lydden and Oulton Park but on the verge of his first win had a serious crash at Brands Hatch and again brought an early close to the season.

Success in 2005

Success at the end of the 2005 season saw both riders signed to ride in 2006 and take on all the BSB rounds.  A fantastic battle was on the whole season between the two riders, who won 10 of the 13 rounds with five wins each, with Bob Collins taking the title in the last round of his local circuit of Brands Hatch.

Carl wins the series

Carl won the series in 2004, Portico and Carl then moved up to the televised MRO series and some national rounds of support races for the popular British Superbike series.  Whilst lying second in the MRO series Carl sustained a serious injury and could not continue that season.  With Carl unavailable to ride, Protico Sport helped local rider Martin Buckles to his first win at national level at Croft in 2005 and also helped Bob Collins ride at club and national level.

From an idea to help riders in the sport of motorcycle road racing

Portico Sport was formed in 2004 from an idea to help riders in the sport of motorcycle road racing with the ethic of work hard, play hard and the love of motorcycles, Portico Sport entered Carl Hunton in the 2004 Bemsee Powerbike series.
